In a world where conflict, division, and uncertainty often seem overwhelming, the theme of Oculus Procallae, serves as a reminder of the quiet strength found in resilience and hope. This year, MCGSMUN 2025 invites you to reflect on the power of peace, both in the world around us and within ourselves.
In a time when the world is full of discord and division, the ability to find peace amidst chaos is not just a skill but a necessity. Oculus Procallae is not merely a theme; it is a call to action for each of us to remain calm and centered, even in the face of the most difficult challenges,, with the hope of resurrecting lives, mentally and physically.
While the world might be politically divided, each fragment of a mosaic contributes to the final portrait. This portrait lies at the centre of the one emotion that brings us all to a common ground, which is not only empathy but humanity. This conference aims to bring about inspiring ideas which aren’t just realistic in nature but a testament to the reality of the aspirations of upcoming generations and to perform to the best of their capabilities.
While we try to subdue the conflict that plagues this world, we often forget that the true Eye of the Hurricane lies in the trivial, fleeting moments of peace. Which brings us to the positive center which every human strives to find, ranging from every hungry child being fed and millions of refugees finding homes. At the end, Oculus Procallae aims at not just survival but revival.

It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you all to MCGSMUN 2025 which serves as a platform where young minds converge to engage in meaningful dialogue, embrace global perspectives, and strive for diplomatic excellence. At Mayo College Girls’ School, we believe that leadership is cultivated through discourse, and it is through initiatives like MCGSMUN that we empower students to think critically, collaborate effectively, and lead with empathy.

Under the theme "Oculus Procallae" Eye of the Hurricane (Peace Amidst Chaos), MCGSMUN 2025 aims to place delegates at the centre of global challenges, where clarity meets chaos, and solutions emerge from dialogue. This theme reflects our commitment to fostering diplomatic discourse and innovative problem-solving among young minds while encouraging the development of critical thinking and the ability to articulate ideas with precision and confidence in the face of uncertainty.

This uncertainty often exceeds what we can foresee, testing our ability to adapt and respond. In a world where unpredictability can shape history in unexpected ways, the essence of this theme reaches far beyond the conference rooms. The discussions, resolutions and ideas that are envisioned to be cultivated are beyond theoretical perspectives that rest in books.

Today’s youth carry the potential to create steps of change in our communities and beyond. Our aim at MCGSMUN is not just to simulate diplomacy but to encourage progression with a sharp vision, where small efforts today can transform into larger impacts tomorrow and the steps towards achieving the change begin now. Dear Distinguished Delegates,
It is my great honor to welcome you all to the 13th edition of the Mayo College Girls’ School Model United Nations 2025. This year, our conference is guided by the theme ‘Oculus Procallae: Eye of the Hurricane,’ which means 'Peace Amidst Chaos,’ a reminder that even in the most turbulent times, diplomacy remains the guiding light that leads us toward harmony. Just as our school motto, ‘Let there be light,’ signifies the pursuit of knowledge and truth, this conference stands as a testament to the power of dialogue and reason in illuminating the path to peace.
The world around us is in a time of great commotion, diplomatic tensions are rising, conflicts are deepening, and divisions between ideas are growing wider but even in the midst of this chaos, there is hope. It’s an opportunity to build connections where division exists, to open conversations where there’s silence, and to stand for peace where war seems inevitable. MUNs have long been the crucible where the leaders of tomorrow emerge, and MCGSMUN stands as a reflection of that legacy. This conference is a powerful reminder of how diplomacy can bring about understanding, where those who embrace cooperation and open dialogue can become the leaders who inspire positive change.
With a diverse range of committees and agendas, this year’s conference aims to push the boundaries of conventional diplomacy. Whether in addressing political strife, economic disparities, environmental crises, or humanitarian conflicts, we aspire to create an arena where negotiation triumphs over aggression and where the art of debate converges with the responsibility of resolution.

As Secretary-General, I take immense pride in the secretariat team that has worked relentlessly to create an unforgettable experience for every participant. The success of the conference comes at the virtue of our MUN Coordinator, Dr. Gargi Singh, whose efforts and guidance has helped us throughout.

The diverse identities converge, seeking a collective voice, and before their potential is misunderstood as mere chaos, a profound and sharp vision becomes quintessential to comprehend their collective narrative in its totality. This year's conference theme, 'OCULUS PROCALLAE' (Eye of the Hurricane), is meticulously crafted to embrace and illuminate each perspective, identity, and voice with unprecedented depth and sensitivity.
We envision a transformative lens that not only acknowledges but genuinely values every unique perspective, strategically bringing nations together to communicate through the universal languages of peace, harmony, love, and collaborative problem-solving. Our ambitious mission transcends traditional boundaries, aiming to foster genuine solidarity among global citizens and inspire world leaders to support one another with an authentic spirit of goodwill, compassion, and mutual understanding.
