MCGS MUN'26
HISTORIC CRISIS COMMITTEE
AGENDA: Examining the Political and Communal Consequences of the Partition Plan, 3 June, 1947, and the Division and Administration of Punjab
The Historical Crisis Committee recreates major turning points in history where delegates must respond to events as they unfolded. This agenda focuses on the consequences of the Partition of India following the announcement of the 3 June Plan. The plan proposed the division of Punjab between the newly forming states of India and Pakistan. This decision led to massive migration, communal tensions, and challenges in establishing new administrative systems. The committee examines the political instability and violence that arose during the transition. Delegates must discuss how the division of Punjab could be managed while addressing communal conflict and humanitarian concerns. The goal is to explore decisions that could reduce chaos and maintain order during this critical historical moment.
All position papers must be submitted no later than 1/04/2026 23:59 IST.
